Abstract:
With the promulgation and implementation of the “Regulations on Human Organ Donation and Transplantation” and its supporting policies, the legal protection system for cadaveric organ donation in China has been increasingly refined. Meanwhile, it has set higher requirements for the standardization and normalization of ethical reviews on death determination. This guideline focuses on the key issues of ethical review of death determination in cadaveric organ donation, with an emphasis on two main donation models: donation after brain death (DBD) and controlled donation after cardiac death (cDCD). It systematically elaborates on the nine core elements of ethical review of death determination, aiming to provide clear operational norms and practical guidelines for ethical review of cadaveric organ donation, and promote the standardized and normative development of this field.
